While trying to realize economic solidity let do it vigilantly………

Increasing taxes and failing to simultaneously check on governments spending is most  likely one of the economic grave mistake that a country can afford to commit. Superficially it may appear as an upright and a viable solution of putting the economy in check or a channel to accumulate more funds into the treasury but I beg to differ. With this, all we could possibly be doing is infringing pain and unnecessary turmoil to our citizens and doing nothing at all to the budget spending which most likely than not, isn’t going to change positively with even a single dollar. It will be equivalent to putting up a massive input and setting up a by far larger output that dry drain the economy, stagnant will then be our position forever no matter the effort.

I agree with every economist out there that fiscal policies, hypothetically appears an effective channel for nursing an economy. However, if poorly implemented they can turn into a time bombs that can easily retard the economy and in a worst scenario trip us into what economist would designate as hyperinflation. Thus, as the government resolves in this financial quagmire they should be ardent to exercise the maximum levels of caution so that the projected objective is realized, less we likely to sink into situations worse than those experienced in Zimbabwe.

I must also say that our government by virtue of having feeble unions to bargain for better wages and salaries has been spared the risk of inflation that comes as a consequence of gradual surge in consumers levels of income and goods and services prices. This situation though should not be assumed to be a lasting state of events especially with the trending state of revolution among African countries where folks are bit by bit becoming aware of their rights and indulgences provided in their constitutions. Then there should be accurately specified strategies to keep every economic development in watch because a time is possibly on its way when economic policies may not be adequately sufficient to counter the forces of inflation and other economic downslides.

Then those in government should come in terms with the reality that leadership is something more than cruising in big vehicles and sitting on the most lavish pews both in the parliament and their offices. They need to go slow on the government coffers if the picture of the Kenya painted  in the vision 2030 will get anywhere close to its realization.

Racism nauseates worse than absurdity, let shun it by all means…

The rise of present president of the United State of America (Barrack Obama) to command was somewhat a phenomenal that appeared to tail one old evil in the name of racism. It was a historical move that stirred a tip of optimism to our brothers in diaspora and the black Americans who for once were duped to believe that the efforts of the likes of Nelson Mandela and the dreams of one Martin Luther King were on their way to realization with a black president in power. A number of years down the line their anticipations, convictions and positive expectations are just but mirages that don’t

seem to get any close to them, efforts to erode this irrational and barbaric vice has furtively been challenged from all quarters, not even the law courts who are epitomes of impartiality seem to propagate the efforts to permanently erode this vice.

I tend to totally believe that if today  all the technology that hold and facilitate the current industrial revolution comes to a sudden and permanent stand still, our colleagues in the west are mostly likely to walk into our continent to do exactly what their forefathers once did- Slave trade. Have read and heard of the mortifications some of our friends have to undergo especially while trying to secure a flight from the western countries, the story is even worse for those who choose to inhabit and work in some of these foreign nations. Suspicion, allegations and open deride is what some have put up with to earn a decent living within such territories. However, some barely come open on such issues -they are matters of the heart -which slowly eat them from within like a malignant tumor.

The most recent case against one Zimmerman that was ruled by five juries, one black and four whites speaks volumes about the level of xenophobia in USA specifically. After reading through the entire story and some paraphrase of what the attorneys had presented against Zimmerman, I find adequate reason and factual justification as to why some Americans had to take to the street to demonstrate their discontent. Am not an enemy to sanity as one might be swift to think, but when dialogue and its efforts seem to bring forth no fruits, at times it’s a noble thing to do exactly what they did especially when dealing with such a delicate issue. It was way too shameful for a nation that claims to be urbane to be linked to such a vice, yah civilization is a package that entails something more than industrial distinction and vast financial strength. How I wish it was one of the parameters that was used to gauge what they called ‘failed states’, possibly Somalia could have taken a better position and left the first to one of these nations!!!

Preached so much of gay right within and beyond the borders, passed bills to paint it right and forgot the thorny issues that can easily topple a whole state, Mmmh ….. An off beam treat of preferences from an elegant nation may be fits the whole scenario.

The argument is: let not nobody bend down to those old fossiled dogmas that there exist superior and mediocre races, the fact that we are all mortal congregates us to an equivalent capacity  and consequently an identical and rational treat.

May God rest the soul of one Trayvon Martin in internal peace.

Selfishly guard our hard earned Resources .......by ken

The most recent move by government to scrap off the maternity fee is one move that was worthy appreciating though it’s equally an undertaking that translates to a rise in government spending specifically in the line of health. With this the government should be well prepared to ensure that every coin injected in this project is used to serve the said purpose and not bulging the pockets of some criminals in the name of management. Remember what happened to the free education program?! When the former president of the republic of Kenya announced this it was received with all kind of enthusiasm and obviously endless praise to the president and his party affiliates. It never appeared to anybody that one big monster in the name of corruption could almost shutter the whole project and worst still taint the name of the country to the donors who had pledged to fund the venture. One thing resulted to the other and the students had no learning material just because some crazy Kenyan somewhere had snaffled a part of the money in the name of delegation summits and procurement of drinking water for millions of Kenyan shillings! Several years down the line with one commission after another the perpetrators of this are yet to be held accountable, possibly impunity again found a  fit platform and thus why we are yet to get answers to the question, who embezzled our funds? All we have is some shoddy audit reports that covers volumes in literature and exhibits little or no rationality.

Lately I bumped on a report titled “Challenges that faced free education in Kenya” I read the article optimistic that I could find the names of those egotistic  people that siphoned  education meant funds and possibly where they were serving their jail terms in return of their actions . Mendacity was what was demonstrated in the entire report, less I don’t sufficiently understand why one could write virtually ten pages to cover: teachers shortage, teaching and learning facilities, head teachers poor management skills and student mobility from public to private and within public schools and ONLY have two sentences on embezzlement while everybody the devil inclusive knows that its fraud that amputated the whole scheme.

To avoid a repeat of what happened back then, somebody most preferably some upright ant-fraud bureau need to be set up to ensure that every penny spent is accounted for, not only for this project but for any other that could be in pipeline. Let cushion our citizens from schemes that can cause actual patient harm, including subjecting patients to unnecessary treatment, providing sub-standard services and supplies, and passing potentially life-threatening diseases due to the lack of proper precautions. This how we can appropriately appreciate that Kenyan who is daily baked by the scorching sun trying to earn a living and as the day ends they still have something to give to the government in the name of tax, and every other person who pays for health care benefits, every business that pays higher insurance costs to cover their employees and every taxpayer who funds Medicare.And i believe this not a dream for Ken alone, its  a yearn that springs from the heart of every other 'mwenyenchi' from every walks of life...
